Terms of Service

Effective 27 October 2026Last updated 27 October 2026

These terms apply when you download, install or use Larpcord, and when you use this website. Please read them, and the Privacy Policy, before you install Larpcord. If you do not agree, do not download or use it.

What Larpcord is

Larpcord is a free modification ("client mod") for the Discord desktop app on Windows and macOS. It changes how Discord's interface looks on your own computer: for example your display name, badges, avatar decorations, profile colours, name styles and server tag. While its Online setting is on, other people who use Larpcord see the same look on your profile, and you see theirs; everyone else, and Discord itself, see your real profile.

Larpcord does not change your Discord account, and it does not send your changes to Discord or to anyone else. Other people see your real profile. Larpcord is an independent project and is not made, endorsed or supported by Discord Inc.

Who may use it

You may use Larpcord only if you are old enough to use Discord where you live and are able to agree to these terms. If you use Larpcord on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for them.

Licence

Larpcord's software is free and open source, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later). The GPL governs how you may copy, change and share the software, and nothing in these terms limits the rights it gives you.

The Larpcord name, logo and this website's design and text are not covered by the GPL. You may not use them in a way that suggests your project or version is the official Larpcord.

Discord's terms and your account

Please read this section carefully. Discord's Terms of Service do not allow client modifications. Using Larpcord, like any client mod, is against those terms and could lead Discord to take action on your account, up to suspending it.

Larpcord is designed to work entirely on your computer and does not automate your account or send your changes to Discord, but we cannot guarantee how Discord will treat its use. You use Larpcord at your own risk, and you are responsible for your Discord account and for complying with Discord's terms.

Acceptable use

Larpcord is for fun and personal customisation. You agree not to use Larpcord, or screenshots or recordings of it, to:

  • pretend to be Discord staff, a Discord moderator, a partner or any other person or organisation, or to make people believe you hold a badge, rank or status you do not;
  • scam, phish, defraud, threaten or harass anyone;
  • break any law, or anyone else's rights;
  • distribute a modified version as the official Larpcord, or bundle Larpcord with malware.

What you show on your own screen stays there; how you use it is your responsibility.

Updates

Larpcord checks this website now and then to see whether a newer version is available, and tells you when one is. Updates are never installed without you: you choose whether to download and install them. We may change, add or remove features at any time.

Third-party content

Larpcord shows artwork, badges, decorations and other content that belongs to Discord Inc. and other owners. That content remains theirs; Larpcord does not give you any rights to it. Discord can change or remove it at any time, and features that rely on it may stop working.

No warranty

Larpcord and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or keep working after Discord updates. This matches the warranty disclaimer in the GPL.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the people behind Larpcord are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, accounts, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Larpcord or this website — including any action Discord takes on your account.

Some places do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those places, these limits apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

If you break these terms, or use Larpcord in a way that harms someone else, you agree to be responsible for the claims that result, as far as the law allows.

Uninstalling and ending these terms

You can stop using Larpcord at any time: open Larpcord.exe and press Uninstall, which restores Discord exactly as it was. Your local Larpcord settings stay in %APPDATA%\Larpcord until you delete that folder.

These terms apply for as long as you use Larpcord. Sections 7 to 10 and 13 continue to apply after you stop.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will say so on this website. If you keep using Larpcord after a change, the updated terms apply.

General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the GPL, are the whole agreement between you and us about Larpcord. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, that does not mean we give up the right to do so later.
